I fly an American flag on my bike. It was getting a bit frayed, so I ordered 3 from OldBikeBarn.com on September 10. According to their website, the founder was involved in the Balkan conflict. So was I, so I felt no hesitation about ordering. The first charge to my credit card was in New York. Then that charge was refunded and a different charge occurred in Canada with a Foreign transaction fee. After two months of waiting, my order was cancelled without explanation and my charge card...

a few weeks back our town had a terrible thing happen...it was overflowing with ATF, FBI, State Patrol, sheriffs and Swat trucks and helicopters...a near by town had a Hell Angels gathering b/4 Sturgis and The Outlaws had their gathering just outside of Superior, WI..at the same time...I have never seen Bikers, both club members a local folks have to go thru multiple stops to have ID checked. Every dirt road corner had two squad cars..stopping all the bikers..patched or not ...minor...

Just had to do a little venting (go ahead, give me the 'world's smallest violin' gesture w/your thumbs/pinkys). My T has been out of commission for 2 1/2 weeks due to the problems with the cooling system. The T performed well on my 5 day trip around MI, but I think we made a big mistake putting the Bars Leaks in. We were careful about the ratio, but I think this stuff tends to inhibit the ability of the coolant to circulate and the bike was overheating very quickly. So now...

Last weekend, I needed an emergency tire replacement in Elkins, WV. Demotto Yamaha had a tire in stock and made my service request a priority issue. I was back on the road by noon. Two thumbs up for this group.

I went to the bank yesterday after work and I told the teller that I wanted to "pay-off" the loan on my Tourer. So I did and walked out of the bank really feeling good that I now own my T lock, stock and barrel. I don't get to do that this very often so it really felt good.

Just had to rave about it to someone.

I'm going through withdrawal symptoms! Had to bring the T to a friend of mine who works on all things Honda. The fork seals had failed and I was losing fork oil. Besides that, the speedometer wasn't working well - wouldn't register above 50mph (which, on balance, might be convenient in talking to law enforcement officers), and the light wouldn't come on. Turns out the speedo that came with the bike (which I had purchased from College Bike Shop in Lansing MI) had a nice new...

A few weeks ago I stumbled across Cycle Gear in Charlotte, NC while I was driving between a Kawasaki-Suzuki dealer and a Triumph-Ducati-BMW dealer looking for a new rain jacket. It was great to see a store with several brands of helmets, apparel and boots. I had been missing that since I no longer have access to Competition Accessories in Springfield, Ohio. for some reason, gas is always lowest near I-70 and noland road here in k.c. heard on the news this morning it's $1.59 there and i have to go that direction this morning.
wonder how long this will last. anybody else have it cheaper in their neck of the woods?
i had to update this...gas just went to $1.37 in independence, mo. today. i filled up yesterday for $1.49 and thought i was getting a deal, but i think i'll just go out and ride around...

Last night on our usual Dart Night my son walks into the bar and I can tell something was up by the look on his face. My son tells me he had just picked up a new motorcycle. just out on the news here in k.c. that three bikers/riders were hit while stopped below an underpass to put their rain gear on. the first two bikes had passengers and the third bike had rolled up behind them to either offer help or don his own rain gear. they're still alive, but in critical condition. the first two bikes were hit by a car and the third was hit by a van!

gas prices jumped .10 per gallon here in k.c. today because gustav might hit the oil rigs along the coast.
rave is: i filled up everything yesterday at $2.49 per gallon because the news here was saying this was going to happen! goes up a dime a day and comes down a penny a day.

A few years ago I purchased a really nice handlebar watch from a company called Twisted Throttle who was at Americade. Now I really like this small watch on my handlebars. It saves me from trying to roll up my sleeve and distracting my attention from the road when I want to know what time it is. It's a luxury item I know but one I do enjoy.

if some of you haven't heard, lightning struck an oil companies storage tank here in kansas city tuesday night and 58,000 barrels of oil went up in smoke. this mornings radio talk show i listen to is asking the question as to how this happened. aren't these storage tanks protected some how against lightning. maybe it was a freak accident, but i'm sure it will be another excuse for the company suppling fuel to the metro area to raise prices...again.

I just wanted to express my thanks to bsouthwo, aka Bob. Not only did he sell me a pair of stock mufflers at a very fair price, he actually shipped me a tad more hardware than I bargained for with them. They were mounted on my T today to replace the baffleless ones that came with the bike when I bought it. Bob, all I can say is you just made my future biking experiences ten fold more enjoyable as I can now dispense with the earplugs if I want to. As a friend of mine always says, God love ya!...
