I'm a school teacher. By all accounts, I have the class from Hell. Nobody wants my class next year. One of next year's teachers is talking of retiring early so she doesn't have this group. So I cut school on Friday and took off on my bike. South on Highway 99 to Bakersfield, then east on Freedom.

First quick ride of Spring

I finally got out for a quick ride in today (120 miles). I feel that it is too early for the mountains in Colorado, so I rode parallel to the foot hills. I experimented with some rural roads north of Boulder and found some nice riding. I think the area that I rode in had more horses per capita than any place I have ever been...

Monticello Homecoming Ride

Monticello has a celebration in July every year. They call it Monticello Homecoming. It lasts all weekend and one of the events is the poker run. I am one of the organizers and I also block. All the procedes go to a Scholarship fund at the high school. So if you're ever in southern Wi around the 2nd week in July, come join us!!

Stieman Run

Here are a few pics of our annual "Stieman Run". The ride is in memory of Randy Stieman who was a popular local biker who was well know for his giving spirit. He was killed 5 years ago in a freak auto accident. The ride is held on the Sun of Memorial weekend. The bar that has hosted this event burned down last fall so the event has been moved to a local MC clubhouse for this year's event. Our turnout for 07 was around 190 bikes.

Hi All,

I have a new Guy who moved in across the street from me at the begging of the summer and has a Harley and won't talk to me much, maybe because I ride a Honda. But look a this pic; he left his bike out all summer with no cover and plans on leaving it out all winter.

Not even a Harley deserves that.

It is starting to get colder up in the moutains around here (as you will see in the first picture). Makes me believe this ride could have been the last mountain ride of the season. It was a great ride though! Hardly any cages to slow down for! I did not tear up the turns (that is not my stlyle), but I was able to carve the turns smoothly at my own pace.

By the way Rich, the following pictures are within the 30 mile radius of home, but I did not think they belonged to the Fall...

Took a little ride just to get out of the house. It was funny, i was laying down in the middle of Hwy 104 to get my bike in the frame(not a lot of traffic) and did not see my boot's in the pic. Then i got in a ditch to get some low pic's, oh well i take a lot of pic's so maybe i get 2 or 3 good ones. It was a nice day for a ride.

Fall colors ride in Colorado

I would like give back a little to the forum instead just posting my problems. I just got back from a Fall colors ride in Colorado. I the dates where from Sept 28th through Oct 3. I like to try to go for peak Fall colors, but the weather can get in the way: rain and snow (in the higher elevations). Originally, I had planned on being away through the 7th, but my rear tire was loosing tread fast, so I had to cut it short. Anyway, I did still manage to cover a good portion of the state....

PGR Mission

Last Saturday I attended my first Patriot Guard Riders mission. It was a honor ride for a local 106 year old WWI veteran, Frank Buckles. There were about 250 PGR members in attendance, some as far away as Texas. Staging took place at the VA Hospital in Martinsburg WV and we were then escorted by two WV State Police cruisers to Mr. Buckles farm, about 10 miles from the hospital. I've ridden in the last 4 TOT rides and each time I said to myself that I would not do it again, yet I still managed to come with an excuse to go ahead and ride one more time. This year I finally succeeded in not riding in it. Instead, I decided to ride down to Waterloo, AL ahead of time and check out all the activities and vender's before the bulk of the crowd showed up. I relay didn't take enough pictures this year and most where from the ride down the Blue Ridge park way. I guess i was having way to much fun riding to even stop, i will definitely be riding the BRP again. For what it is worth here are the ones that came out OK.
