I came across this piece of information on another forum. It made mention of an illustrated technique to pick up a downed motorcycle on the Woman Riders Now website. My curiosity was aroused when I read a couple of posts regarding deer whistles. I had always wondered what the real story was on them, so I did some internet searching and came up with this article written by our brethren on the BMW side of motorcycles.

The 2005 Highway Bill authorized $2.8M for a new motorcycle accident study, but it's contingent on matching funds. While other organizations, notably the Motorcycle Industry Council and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, are haggling over what they will give, the AMA is donating $100,000 and they are calling on all motorcyclists to donate the cost of a tank of gas.

A Tip to Avoid In-Town Speeding Tickets

Mitch Boehm of Motorcyclist magazine, says to avoid in-town tickets to keep your bike's transmission in a gear or two lower than normal. It's too easy to generate more speed than you can feel in the saddle when you are cruising in 4th or 5th gear. The ride is smooth and the engine is hardly revving. By downshifting a gear or two the sound and vibrations will be higher so you will be more aware of your speed and the need to keep your speed down in-town.

Vibration in my floor boards

I have a set of Cobra floor boards on my 98T that give off a bit of vibration that leaves my feet tingling. Has anyone experienced this and how did you get rid of it? I am going to try to mount a thin layer of rubber under the floor boards were the board rests on top of the metal bracket to see if this solve the problem. Before trying this, I thought it would be worth asking the question in the event someone has a quick solution.
