			<description><![CDATA[ Bled the brakes..no sweat. Finally got brave and changed the old fluid out(it was really brown). The job was an easy one, the most difficult part being removal
of the rt. saddle bag and front caliper cover. Bought a brake fluid drain kit from PepBoys and used the wife to pump the brakes while I worked the drain valve

			<description><![CDATA[ I helped another Shadow owner do some maintenance on his 1100 Spirit this past weekend.
<br>
We replaced the front brake fluid (rear brake is a mechanical drum), which was a bit of a challenge since the Spirit handlebars have alot of angle on them. In
any case, the odd thing was this piece of lightweight plastic (like HDPE) floating atop the brake fluid inside the master cylinder. My T doesn&#39;t have
anything like that and I can only guess it&#39;s for easier viewing of the fluid level... ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ Rear pin bolt ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ While putting my bike back together after getting new tires put on, I saw in the manual that it is recommended that the &quot;stopper pin bolt&quot; be
replaced. Is this something that I really need to do? I suppose it is no big deal to get a replacement, but I really don&#39;t see the need, unless it is
because it doesn&#39;t seat as well after it is torqued down. Torque is only 51 foot pounds, so that doesn&#39;t seem like that much. Thanks, Steve. ]]></description>

I was cleaning (okay caressing) my Tourer when I found that he chrome cover to the rear master cylinder was lose. Incredibly loose. So lose that I thought the
bolt that held it on was loose so I tried to tighten it. I found that it would not turn and appeared to be as tight as it should be. Despite the fact that the

			<title><![CDATA[ front brake pin bolt stripped ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Hi, I tried to do an easy task today, change front pads. Did rear last fall, real easy. When I put front ones back on, the pin bolt apparently stripped
out,(wouldn&#39;t thread into the bracket), boot ripped. Just wondered if this happened to anyone? Do I need to order new bolt and bracket it threads into? or
can I just put a regular bolt through there or have it rethreaded or something? The caliper just slips over the boot, so thought maybe I could just run a bolt
thru there, sticking out... ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ Front Brake Noise ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ My front brake makes a stange sound when I grab the handle and squeeze. It is difficult to put in words exactly what it sounds like. The sound is a sort of "wheeze" with a high speed clicking. It started at the end of last season and I didn't get around to inspecting the condition until yesterday.<br>
    I took the caliper apart last night and completely cleaned the unit and inspected the pads. The pads are 4+ years old but have planty of "meat" on them. The rotor looks great too. The... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ I've decided th upgrade the front brake line from stock to the braided stainless steel version, looking to improve the efficiency of the brakes.<br><br>
I've looked on several sites and can't find any specific references to parts for a T.<br><br>
So, does anyone who has done this mod have a part number that will fit the T and info on where to get it???<br><br>
I assume that the brake line is the same as one of the other shadow listings but I'm not sure.<br><br>

			<title><![CDATA[ Rear rotor ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ My rear brake pads were changed out approx 1000 miles ago. Now i have developed a &quot;swish swish&quot; sound from the rear brakes. My bike savoy friends say the rotor is scored pretty deep and probably warped. I would say the caliper is'nt opening enough. The brakes do not work as good as when first replaced. Do you think they have glazed over from heat?<br><br>
Anybody out there no of the best and cheepest place to get a new Rear rotor? I found an aftermarket one for $132.00.<br><br>

My fronts are now wearing a bit so I use the rear a little more than usual. I was pm-ing my bike today and checked the rear pads again because it was developing a grinding noise. 			<description><![CDATA[ I need to change the front brake pads. I think I know what I'm doing, but looking for assurance. I already did the rear pads. That was easy enough, because the caliper rotates up away from the rotor so you can slip the new pads in. I used a C-clamp to push the piston  back, and had removed the cover from the rear brake resivor so the fluid could return there.<br><br>

Last Sunday about a mile fromt the house I noticed a shockingly loud grinding noise coming from my T's front end. I got off and looked but saw nothing out of place.<br><br>
Turned around and started limping home. I noticed that when I applied my front brakes that the grinding stopped.<br>
Picked up a set of new pads and put them on today. <br>
Rotate the front wheel and it grinds something awful. Not squeeling but grinding.<br><br>

			<description><![CDATA[ Ever seen a Shadow with adjustable levers? Wings and Nomads have them and almost all the sport-touring bikes too. At the IMS, I sat on several bikes with adjustable levers, you don't know you'd like to have them until you've tried them. I noticed I don't need all the throw available at the clutch lever of the T and a shorter reach would be appreciated.  A 'net search turned up nothing but some detective work has led a trail to some possibilities.<br><br>
