wont start need help

hello
i am new to site and have a 98 and am having real problems this spring getting my shadow going.
put in a new battery, old one bad bad cells, and lights and idiot lights were on then went to hit starter and boom everything went dead, no lights or idiot lights nothing, didn't hear a boom btw. well checked the main 30 amp fuse and not blown checked the accesory fuses nothing blown. Battery has charge but when i turn ignition switch i see no lights or anything. looked at...

? How bad did I screw up ?

Well as always wanting more juice out of the T's stator.I was talking with my good friend about his Harley and his came with two option of a power from the alt/stator. He got the highest output.So we started looking in his parts manual and the difference wasn't the stator it was the flywheel.There were two different flywheels- the more powerful one had more magnets inside.So I went to Ron Ayers parts

I knew this was coming. It seems to happen every year. I should be use to it by now, but everytime it happens it's always the same story. First ride of the season.....dead battery. Then I watch a glorious weekend slip by.

In the past I would remove the battery from the motorcycle and keep it in the house all winter. Then in the spring I would put a charge on it before installing it in the bike for the first ride. This year things were a little different but with the same end...

Battery Box

Need help Guys,
I had to replace the battery in my T. Bought a T shaped maintainence free battery. When I went to take the old one out, I had to remove the battery box to get the battery out. The battery fits so tight I don't think I can get it back in if I install the box first, and I can't can't reinstall it with the battery in the box.
Any suggestions or tips?
I have fought with this thing till I'm ready to chunk it!

Well it looks like the T curse got me, I've had trouble lately keeping the battery charged so today before I went for a ride I checked the stator output and I was getting nothing. so it looks like I'm going to have to remove the seat and do a full chrging stystem check to see what's wrong. Lets hope its something simple. Any suggestions will be a help.

Rattling headlight

Hey Ya'll, I'm hoping someone has had a similar problem, and will know the fix.
My headlight is vibrating and causing a rattling noise when I'm riding. I can reach past my speedo and just touch the headlight and the noise stops. I've checked to see if the light is loose, but no. I've checked to see if anything is contacting the light, but again, no luck. It seems to be an intermittent problem that will stop when I throttle down, or speed up. However, it isn't...

Automotive lights

Anybody have an idea as to whether the small automotive type driving lights available at most stores can be used on the Tourer. I believe they were rated at 55 watts but wasn't sure if that was too much for the electrical system. Thought they would be a good addition to the hwy bars or mounted low on the forks.

Can a Battery Tender maintain two batteries?

I have two bikes. Do I need two Battery Tenders? I'm thinking that if I started at the end of the season with both batteries fully charged, the Tender would switch back and forth between the two as each battery should discharge at a different rate. What can I say, I'm a cheap-a$$.

temperature light problem

The temperature light on my speedometer isn't working. According to the shop, Wingworx in Sacramento, the connection is good. The LED temp light in the speedo is a non-repairable item. My choice is to replace the speedometer or mount a temperature gauge. My question is about the sending unit. Will it support a temperature gauge, or is it a simple on/off switch which activates the idiot light? If anyone has put on a temperature gauge, which one did you choose? Thanks for your help.

auxiliary fuse block

I want to add a second fuse block to my T and will put in behind the right side cover. It has room for 6 10-amp connections, but I doubt I'll use more than 2 or 3 at any given time (if that many). What gauge wire would y'all recommend to connect from the battery to the new box?

As always, any suggestions would be much appreciated!

turn signal switch

Anybody ever take apart a turn signal switch. The switch on my"T" is hard to press when you cancel the t/s. I rode a friends VLX 600 and his was smooth. I think in may have eight years of crud built up in it. Whats involved in cleaning a lubing this thing. I don't want to have stuff flying apart when I take it off. Thanks folks.
