seat pin suggestions

May I poll your recommendations for a nice seat pin to fill the hole where the rear seat was fastened? I'm putting a studded Mustang fender bib on the rear, but it needs the pin to hold down the rear. I'd like to find something more attractive than the stock item. Thanks for your time!

Backrest Extenders

I drew up a simple backrest extender design and had my buddy at work make them out of aluminum for me. They work very nice and raise the backrest a total of 1 5/8" putting the support higher on the back for the rider. I'm sharing a drawing and some pics for anyone who wants to do the same.

OK Guys, I need some input here. I love the look of the Mustang seat and was lucky enough to find a very nice one (like new) w/drivers backrest on e-bay for $450.00. I'm 6' tall, long arms and have a gimp leg (brake side). I replaced the stock foot pegs with Cobra floorboards and boy did that help, I could get my feet farther forward. driver's backrest

I know this was addressed, in part, in December of last year.

How do Custom World International, Pro-Tac, and Firehouse customs compare for quality? Firehouse seems to be the cheapest, but $100 doesn't matter that much when spending a lot of hours looking at the world through my helmet. The reviews of Custom World International at cruisercustomizing.com are old and not that great. What do some of you have and how is the quality? How about the ease of installation?

Help finding obscure item

I can't remember where I saw it, but there was an "all-in-one" seat. It looks like a pretty standard, but the back opens up and there is a driver backrest that pulls out, and then a portable rack pulls down off the backrest. Does anybody remember where to find this? Does anybody have any experience trying it out?

Wear and tear

Hi guys. The stock seat on my T is showing signs of wear and tear, it has those small vinyl rips starting at the, er, crotch area. Looks like it'll make it thru the season OK, but will be a winter job to repair or replace it. Any suggestions? Re-upolster it? Talk the wife into the need for a new aftermarket? I thought of a seatcover as a cheap way out but I love the stock look of the bike now.

Rear Seat Fender Bolt - Is it Permanent?

I have been wanting to remove the Mustang fender bib on my T and I have a question about the acorn nut that holds down the back end of the fender bib. If I loosen the bolt to take the fender bib off, does the bolt fall out. Meaning does it fall down out of the fender onto the rear wheel? Or is it permantly afixed to the fender.

Can the Mustang passenger seat be attached to the front stock seat?
I've looked at some pictures but can't really tell if the spacing for the brackets would match up well enough or not.

Can anyone tell me the proper sissy bar for my T? I have a Mustang seat and the one that Honda gave me (stock Honda bar) is too close to the back of the seat and pinches the seat. It also makes the passenger not able to take advantage of the widest part of the seat. Honda ordered me a Cobra one part # 02-5135 and it is the same way except taller. Any help would be appreciated. I know some Valkyrie items can fit a T... How about the seat? Does everything off a Valk besides motor stuff fit a T? Any other bikes interchangeable too? I keep seeing good deals on seats, ect but for vtx1300 and so on so on......hardly ever for Shadow 1100 or VT 1100..

I talked to my cobbler the other day about fixing my Corbin. Turns out it was just decorative stitching, and needed no repair.

Anyway, he told me that the best thing for a leather motorcycle seat is shoe polish. The guy has a 2002 Harley with 60,000 miles on it and his (original) seat looks great, plus he works with leather all day, every day, and is one hell of a wiz with leather. He told me to un bolt the seat, take it inside and warm it up before I applied the polish. I tell ya...

Okay my back is keeping me from enjoying my Ace T as much as I would like to. I have a Diamond custom seat so I really don't want to buy a new seat to get one. What is available out there as an add on. The diamond seat uses pretty much a stock seat pan, the main difference is it wider for the driver & passenger and the passenger seat is higher and slightly overlaps the drivers seat. I have seen one on eBay made by firehouse customs but I am afraid the overlap of the passenger seat might...

Taller Backrest

It didn't take long for my girlfriend to start asking for changes to my new T. She say's the backrest isn't tall enough for her. Due to the luggage rack matching pics of Hondaline's, I'm assuming the backrest is too. I've looked in an online Hondaline catalog without success. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'd like to keep the luggage rack. I like the square tubing design and the bungee hooks on the bottom. Thanks.
