Clearview Shield Question

Finally got my ACE tourer Honda brackets!! Only took 5 weeks. Installed them today but needed to modify the mounting by getting a longer bolt that mounts the bracket to the triple clamp (stock is a 20mm, I needed a 25mm) and had to use about 6 washers to take up the slack. When I tried to install it with the clamps flush against the triple clamp, the brackets on the shield were too low!!

I have the Clearview shield that is the "Valk cut" but everything is supposed to line...

Shield height

I am looking into a new clearview for my 98T. I question height. I'm a tall rider but the stock shield seems to work well so far. I've seen a lot of posts about taller shields. What is the best criteria to use when picking the height of the shield?
Any input would be appreciated.

"valk cut" Clearview Shield

I'm about to replace my stock shield with a Clearview. I noticed on some old posts about a "Valk Cut" which makes removal easy if you have a Cobra lightbar.
Does someone have a picture of this Valk Cut shield? I'm very interested since I often like to ride sans shield.

clearview windshield cleaning

Hey everyone,I have a clearview windshield.and I always wash it with a water hose only and lightly rubbing my fingers over the windshield while spraying with hose.After -I put on Novus 1.... Now it seem I need to always use Novus 2 to get read of the haze and make it shine.It seem to only have swirls if the sun shine on it a certain way and the swirls are not the direction I rub the windshield.Is this as good as the windshield get!!!Marry Christmas and Happy Holidays

A Little Help Please

For the last 8 years I have had a Rifle windshield on my T. I do have some of the stock bracketry I picked up a few years ago, but I am trying to find out what else I need. I do have #9 in the picture below, but it looks like I also need numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, 19, 21, 24 & 1 as well. What is confusing me is that the bracket that is pictured is for the left fork, but perhaps number 5 is for the left fork and number 4 is the mirror image for the left fork. Is that the way it goes?...

New Clearview Shield

Now with my insurance check in hand I am ready to replace my stock shield with the one I have been wanting.
I am ordering the +1.5 shield and have them install a vent while they are at it. Since I have the Cobra light bar, more like stems, I think I will order the "Valk" cut windscreen. This shield does not have the cutouts for the turn signals and spotlights. I think it will be easier to install and take off.
Any ideas about the Valk cut or the vent? Thanks, Bob

Yeah..me again guys,
The shield on my T is scratched so bad I can hardly see through it. I gather that the Clearview is the answer, but is there anywhere to pick them up cheaper, or do they offer a forum discount?

Ventilated stock shield

Okay, I finally got around to installing a vent in the stock windshield.
I got a GL1800 vent for cheap on eBay and traded for a stock Tourer windshield. Neither of these items were in pristine condition but that's okay since I was experimenting with this whole idea anyway.

The spot I picked to place the vent wasn't scientifically chosen in a windtunnel. Instead, I placed a piece of tape on the windshield where I thought I wanted it and rode around to make sure it...

Rec'd my new Clearview shield today a +3.5" with a Valk cut. Installation was easy with a perfect fit. The shield is really beautiful and thicker than the stock one. The folks at Clearview did everything exactly as promised and the results are great..Just thought I would let folks know of my good experiences.... Bob <><

1998 T Windshield

I am looking at a 1998 T with 17,000 miles. But it does not have a windshield. Question1 ;Did the T's come with windshields or as an option and is it still possiable to get a windshield for it? 2) Can you still buy rider and passenger floorboards?3) Can you still buy Mustang seats, sissy bar,etc. What would be a fair price to pay for this bike?

Tinting a shield

I may be nuts for even thinking about it, but I have been considering having my shield completely tinted, not totally dark but dark enough to give it a more custom look and something different. I have the OEM shield so I look over it vs. through it. I like the look of the tinted shield on the HD Streeglide fairings. Thought it might set off the black bike with a dark shield with the chrome mounts. Opinions?

small scratches

i believe that i am fixing to order me another windshield. i have very little protection from the wind right now with the stock. gonna get the clearview i believe. no lightbar and may not put one on anyway. i am 6'2 235lbs. will the 3.5 by 1 inch wide be good or should i get the 2 inch by 1 inch shield. i like to look over the shield a little but also dont mind looking through it to keep the bugs from

Installed new clearview shield

I received a new Clearview shield yesterday which I installed and test rode last night. I'm 6'3" so I got the +3 size. It made a great difference in the head buffeting. The line of sight is now at the recommended height. For someone my height, this was well worth the $ and effort to change and it all still looks original. The minimal 1" extra width on each side is also a noticable improvement.
