Oh, and thanks.. this may help me decide my next tire. I was going to get another E3. Maybe not?

I am just starting out on a new Metz 880 (180-70-16) and so far I love it. I still have the OEM up front since it was new last year and still in good shape. I
had Metz on my Shadow 1100 and felt they were far superior to the OEMs. I am not disappointed.

I just put the Valk E3 on a couple weeks ago. I was immediately unhappy with the noise, but it has since quieted or I have learned to ignore it. So far so
good. I always used E2 on my goldwings and figured the E3, with the lower price and higher wear, not to mention, no bridge rock, were the way to go.

I hear you Mike. An early warning system is preferred and the feelers will give you that. Interesting development that the lower profile tire gives.

Have you bent the support bolts yet? If you do not know you will know right away when you try to un-screw them. If they come out straight like they should
all well and good. If the wrench starts feeling funny in your hand it is because the bolt head is making a large arc about its center because the bolt is bent
about an inch...

My last rear was the Valk sized E3 and I got 12k out of it before I was level with the wear bars, and after re reading some old posts from MMR, I decided to
go with his recomendation for the GWing E3. This is a smaller diameter tire than the Valk size so there are some issues.

1. The RPMs are a bit higher at highway speeds, but I have notices almost no change in milage, and I am hoping that the rear GWing tire will last like the
front Gwing tire is. 13k with more tread to go....

Stony, I think majority on this forum will probably pull for the Elite 3. That was the last tire I put on my previous T. The comments here are right on with what I experienced with it. It had a unique hum, but wasn't overbearing. I really loved how the tire handled and felt. I had a lot of confidence in that tire. I ended up riding these mountain roads in NC in the rain on many occasions 2 up, and felt very secure with it. Moreso than with the OEM I started out with. If you're looking at the Valk/Wing tires, don't look past the Bridgestone G704 rear and G709 front tire. I've used these on my wing for the past two tire changes. Great tractions, softer ride and great wear.

I would get about 8k out of my Dunlops but got 10-12k on the stones.
