So much for the waterproofness of this Roadgear boot. Note, general disgust here. This past weekend, on my 672 mile backroad motorcycle version of what could
have been a 528 mile cage Interstate trip from South Carolina to the Cleveland area, I rode the last 90 or so miles in the rain. The right boot leaked through
the front bend panel and wet the Outlast material on top of my toes. It was not overly cool or unpleasant probably because the Outlast material keeps my feet

One of the great additional features to Roadgear's XKJ boots is Outlast, a phase-change material that keeps the rider's feet at a constant

I guess nobody's found the perfect boot yet.
Maybe I'll send my Cruiserworks in every other winter, and take my chances in the un-warranteed year. I'm too cheap to do it every year.
Al, I got a pair of those boot protectors a few years back. There is a little piece of elastic that goes around the arch and material that covers the toe. (I couldn't look at the ones Fred listed from eBay, because they block that site at work.) The boot protectors worked ok, but got worn out...

How old are your Cruiserworks boots? I did 6-7 hours in the rain in September, and my feet were nice and dry.
How long before I can expect my boots to fail? I don't wear mine for walking around very much. I usually have tennis shoes along for when the day's riding is done.

Fred,
I bought Cruiserworks boots this summer. They don't have all the bells and whistles that the Roadgears do, but they have a similar price tag. They are waterproof (many hours of riding in the rain with warm, dry feet will attest to that), and I believe there is Kevlar in the boot material. There are no zippers or reflective material. I'm pretty happy with them, but not as happy as I was before I read your post. Maybe if I put a little safety chrome on the sides I might feel...
