Bob, I did feel a little extra movement when I installed mine, but no more than on a HD Deuce or when using longer/taller handlebars. This is caused by the grips being further back and therefore creating more travel at the grip, not because they are loose or weak. It does take a bit of getting used to at 1st, but have not had any issues with them yet. I installed the rubber washers from the start and do not know if this helps stiffen or not. I did it for cosmetic reasons only.

I used the same risers, but tried the 10 mm kawasaki bolts the first time, and even with shimming them had way too much play in the handle bars.
I then ordered the correct Honda (12mm) adapters from J&P Cycle and it made a world of difference. I will add the rubber washers when I get a chance. Those may stiffen them up a little more, but it's not really necessary now.
<img src="http://www.jerrybrake.com/images/Miscellaneous/dianehonda3.jpg"...

Yes they are, Bob. There is a boss on the bottom of the risers that protrudes about 1/4". Some people just shave that off so that the bottom is flat. I did'nt want to do this to them so I split a old shock rubber in half with my band saw, and then used a vise and a section of 3/4" EMT conduit to press out a larger center hole so that it would fit over the boss. You don't really have to do this, but I thought it looked better. If you don't have a shock mount rubber handy, you can buy...
