My Hopnel bags started to drop too, so I got some self adhesive black Velcro dot sets from work. Pulled the pouch corners down a bit - stuck one set on each corner then pressed up against the windshield. So far so good..

I purchased my pockets from the local Honda shop. I also put 3M velcro tape on the shield & bags to prevent saggging one on each outside and 1 in the middle. Worked for me and was easy. Hope this helps. Jeff

fred, yes, i did get the nut on all the way. the two outside nuts/bolts were the most difficult to get them started, but once i did, i could get a couple/few full turns of the wrench.
alepel, this morning i happily placed my mobile phone in one, garage opener in the other along with the pass/badge from my office, and off i went. very handy! and you're right, i can't wait to have them there to pull my camera out for a quick photo, or one of those tiny memo books to write a note...

Did you have enough thread left to at least get the nut on all the way? If not, it would be safer to install longer bolts.

well, i purchased a set of these on ebay, and thought i'd have the time to put them on today...
what a pain in the a _ _. i made four of the metal "stays" (per the suggestion above), took the windshield off and put them on. but there was hardly any thread left to get a bite to screw on the nut. after getting six of the seven on, but the last one not going on, i had take them all off...

I was going to use your flat L bracket idea at first but I could find one one the right size. I think the brackets I made should do fine. I probably won't carry much more than the cell phone, pager and very small items in the pockets anyway.

I gave thought to using a straight piece of bar stock.
However I felt using a straight brace would not support the entire bag.

I guess I did not make it clear about using the L brace.
The reason I chose the L brace is it supports the entire length of the bag.
The brace looks like an upside down L when you have it mounted between the pouch and the backing strip.
The horizontal part of the L runs under the length on the pouch.
In that way it supports...

Thanks for the tip about drooping pockets. I had some free time today at work (my T is stored in the shop area next to my office) so I made a couple of the brackets and added them behind the pockets.

I cut a couple piece of 1" wide by 1/8" thick aluminum bar stock 4 1/2" long and rounded the corners off one end. I then drilled a 1/4" hole for the bolt that holds the sheild bracket. Works great, no more dropping pockets here. Thanks again for your solution to this problem

I just cut, pasted, and printed your fix for "drooping pockets" My bike is in storage now but as soon as the snow is gone and temps hit the 50's, out she comes and after a quick ride I'll work on your solution.

Hopnel windshield pouchesThe Fix for Hang Down!

I have the Hopnel Windshield pouches. They started to hang down as soon as I put them on my motorcycle.
To say the least, I did not like the way that made them look.

Something had to be done!

I went to the hardware store and got some L brackets. The kind you mend window frames or furniture with.

I got a set of 4-inch and 5-inch brackets (two each).

You will notice a windshield bolt...

the ones at dennis kirk don't have a space for the speedo.

Anyone who is interested.....

I got my windshield pouch from Dennis Kirk..Part number
50-3984 Cost was 61.99 Plus 6.00 shipping and handling.

This pouch is designed for the Tourer. It has two pockets that will hold sunglasses and cell phone and other "stuff"

One thing I don't like....It starting to "hang down" on the upper outside edges. Right now the top of the pouch is about 1/2 inch away from the windshield on the outside edges.
