Hi All, Diane here.
Wishing everyone Happy Holidays. I am really enjoying this bike. Jerry and I rode today (high about 57 degrees). We were trying out a new radio set-up. We installed a HH 38 WX St Cobra hand held CB radio that mounts on the handlebars of my T. He got it from Sierra.com. He won a Shoei helmet for me on e-bay at a good price and installed the microphone headset on sale at Wings and Things for $60. He has a built in CB on his Yamaha Venture, so he did not need to rig up a...

that we use deer hunting and also have our fire dept. channel in them. My local Motorola dealer programed another fruq. in it just for our radios and said we would never hear anyone else on this channel. So far after 4 or 5 years he is right, it has been a private channel for us. I also bought a throat mike from Radio Shack that plugs into them. I was very skeptical about them but they work pretty well. I thought they would probably sound like you were in a drum or something. Amazingly they...

Those sound like FRS radios Stan. They are very nice and the range is good.
We use a pair of 7 mile range 2 way radios by Cobra ($48 a pair - Walmart). Actual miles vary by terrain, but did a good jop in the mountains around Chattanooga, Tn during the Trail of Tears ride. They came with a pair of earbuds that also have a built in mic in the cord. I just push the button on the mic and it bleeps the other radio like a phone. I wonder if these work on the same channels as CB's. I've never tried them to see. It would be neat if they do so that I could talk to other...

My wife and I both have the Cobra setup from Serra on our bikes and it makes the rides much more fun now we can talk to each other when we take a trip.

I added a 48" antena to my bike which add's more distance and set us both up with direct power rather then batteries.

Note, the head sets are very delicate when you unplug and replug, be careful I broke a pin on my wifes and we had to buy a new headset.
