I voted "pass". Part of the decision for me depends on how fast we are already traveling. If I'm on the freeway and the erratic driver is running 5 MPH (or more) slower than I want to travel, I will usually pass and then distance myself from them. If they are running less than 5 MPH slower, or fluctuating in speed many times I will back off and follow. On a trip to the UP a couple weeks ago, I passed an erratic driver only to have him speed up and sit on my back bumper. I slowed a little...

I voted 'PASS', but only if I can get another car between me and the offender. If it looks like they will be directly behind me for a while, I won't pass. Would rather dodge a crash from behind then get pinned between two cages.

I would have to say pass either in the cage or on the bike. I like to get those people behind me. Where if they crash or stop or do anything generally stupid, it will happen behind me and not in front of me.

Case in point... On Saturday nite, don't know if the guy was falling asleep or had to much to drink... drifting from lane to lane... I got past him as fast as I could and put him/her far behind me.

Alain,
I can't answer that question with a simple pass/no pass.
In my gage, I'll pass.......usually.
On the bike, I'll stay behind.....almost always.
