We're back and we're certified. It wasn't a picnic, though. The guy that certified us was one tough dude. I think we're definitely better teachers after his training and critiquing, though. The ride was nice...it was alittle chilly Saturday. We're teaching in Parkersburg this weekend. Looks like it will be a nice weekend.

alan,
it does sound like progressive treated you pretty good. i hope you have good luck finding a new bike. i remember getting a good deal on my T because it was fall and the dealer was anxious not to store another big bike over the winter.
i posted a bike i saw on ebay last night, it's just outside of nashville, that'd be a nice ride back to michigan!
(but it's not red...)

Progressive covered the bike at $4420 and clothing/accessories at $1000. Minus the $500 deductible it's almost $5000. Not bad for a 9 year old bike with 80,000. Cost me $320 year. Every state is different.

Full coverage with Roadside Assistance is only $86 more annually on my T with Progressive. I have an extra $1000 rider to cover clothing and accessories that is included in that extra price. At less than the cost of a cheap helmet, I thought that it was well worth the extra cost. My total annual insurance bill is just under $230 for the T.

Too bad about the bag rails , they are impossible to find replacements without buying a bike that has them on it . I have looked everywhere and still can't find any . But at least you get to start over and put together another ride the way you like it . Half the fun is dressing one out and shopping for the goodies you want to make it your own . Does the insurance company not cover all of the add on chrome and parts ? Or is it just easier to keep them than replace them ? The last bike I...

I am making progress. I can now bend over and pick up items off the floor. I am sure my wife is happy about that.

My biggest problem these days is trying not to sneeze or cough too hard. I am doing pretty well keeping any coughs subdued, but I sneezed this evening for the first time in a week. That sneeze hurt so bad it sucked all the energy out of me. I had to sit down for a couple of minutes to recover. My wife laughed at me. I am sure I deserved...

I like the pictures Fred, Tony and Mike put up - they cover a lot of what we saw. (even though more awesome in person).

I'm doing fine. Nobody can believe I was in an accident, it's amazing.

Decided to take the money. Haven't told Progressive yet because I don't know when I'll have all the OEM part back on the bike. Even if I don't reuse them someone here might want the risers, bars, floorboards or Mustang seat.

Brian & I are off this afternoon to Nelsonville, Ohio to be certified to teach the Motorcycle Safety in Ohio, also. We're watching the weather to decide if we'll ride up on 2 wheels each our both together on 4. We'll be teaching up there tonight and tomorrow morning.
Stony & Kathy, so glad to hear you're safe & sound.

Alan, Are you doing o.k.? Everyone should be mending really fast 'cause we had a top notch nurse on our ride.

If it looks like 3+ riders want to do this loop, I'll take the lead. The only problem is finding dive hotel for Terry & Brian to stay at. After all, I have a reputation to uphold.

Actually, I had no idea the accomodations in Marion would be so bad. I remember seeing the hotel as I blew through the town in June, but the extent of my visit was a quick breakfast at the...

I took hwy 6 in PA by motorcycle in about 1976 and by car / camper in 1990s sometime. It's a great road. Instead of tight twisties, they are flowing curves through the hills (some may call mountains) of N. PA. There was a highway 666 that was one of my favorites of that trip. 62 in Western PA may be a fun road also. Looking at the map, it almost looks like they may have re-named some of the roads or else 62 is the one I was thinking of. I just remember a wide clear shallow fly-fishing...

You may want to check out the Tourer bags on Ebay. Bob posted a link under "Listed On Ebay". The Valk bags do not have the seam down the back. Even with $75.00 shipping, this may be a good bargain. Honda is awfully proud of these bags to the tune of $900.00 per. I do not know if that includes the lids.

I bought two Valk bags without lids for mine last year on Ebay for $267.00 including shipping.

I was noticably better at work yesterday. I was walking almost normally. I still have to be careful what I pick up and how I twist, but I am encouraged my recovery is going well. How are you feeling?

Except for the first T Rally where Putz, Andy/Clerider, Jeff/Toadrider and I mutually planned to ride along the shorelines of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, Sept. 2003, there has been a host or hosts for every fall T Rally. In 2004, Skip and Lori, hosted the Second Annual T Rally in their hometown of Charles Town, WV. A very pleasant surprise was Lori treated all 9 of the attendees to dinner. A very classy gesture!
