I had been using the least expensive tire-wheel balancer that I can imagine. I bought a couple of V-blocks for < $10 from Harbor Freight or Northern Tools,
I don't remember which and set them on a couple of spaced-apart plastic storage boxes that my wife bought and were sitting in my garage. Here's some
pictures of the set-up.

As you can see from the pictures I am relying on the bike's axle and bearings to balance this tire-wheel. This type of static balancer...

I use a balancer called Ken. Ken's Motorcycle Tires in Woodstock GA. Sorry I don't have a picture, but it is really easy to use, in fact so easy that I

Fred, let me know if you get the changer adapter to break the bead. My changer will not break the bead on some ATV tires because they are too thin walled and
the rims have a locking groove built in to keep the sidewalls from breaking loose due to low air pressure. I hope this is not a problem on MC tires as well. I
have heard mention that the HF changer has cause some marring of the alum rims if not careful. There is a nylon rim protector that can be bought at most cycle
supply houses to...

You are welcome Rich. I certainly think No-Mar's style of balancer is better than using V-blocks, as I had been doing. I do not know whether that sytle
of balancer is more sensitive than letting the axle roll on thin aluminum rails. It is possible that the rail is more sensitive if you have an absolutely flat
surface to place that kind of balancer, such as a granite block, or even a garage floor if you can leave it in one spot so that it stays level after getting it
level the first...

Thanks for this info, Fred. I have seen these before. As you already know, I'm an avid do-it-your-selfer. I had thought of building one of these myself
using a couple of tapered lug nuts for the cones, and some all thread for the axle rod. The bearings are available at the local hardware store and at
Lowe's. Between me and my friends and relatives, we own about 50 motorcycles. With that many tires that need changing, We can certainly justify buying the
proper equipment to do it...
