scott,
i just noticed this thread and had to comment...
i was visiting washington state on vacation this past summer and camped one night at cape disappointment. ft. canby state park actually. we had just spent the
three previous nights camping at mt. st. helens, mt. adams, and mt. rainier (one night at each). after cape disappointment we went up the coast close to
westport. my boys were intrigued by the lighthouses and we ended up visiting a number of them.

Putz,
I passed by the frying pan and the sign for Jake quite a few times but I was having too much fun riding to stop for the touristy things. I did see a few kites,
but I think it was too windy. I also saw a bear go across the cabin deck! I'll go back this summer as part of my five corners ride.

Scott,

Thank you for posting the pictures of Long Beach. I notice you didn't include the giant frying pan in "downtown" Long Beach. And what about
"Jake, the Alligator Man" at Marsh's Free Museum?? For another interesting time, go there during the kite festival. Long Beach used to hold the
record for the largest kite ever flown.

I have spent many days and nights in Long Beach and Ilwaco. My wife and I went to Long Beach for our honeymoon....

Great pics Scott,
thanks for sharing. 34 years ago, when I first set foot in this great country, Bremerton was where I started. Had a friend of my dads help me buy a car and off
I went. I did a lot of exploring in that area and have a lot of fond memories. Sadly the weather reminded me to much of Switzerland (rainy) so I moved south to
sunny California. Now that I am older, I would like to back track to my old stumping grounds and what better way then to do it on a bike. Thanks for...
