I was cleaning (okay caressing) my Tourer when I found that he chrome cover to the rear master cylinder was lose. Incredibly loose. So lose that I thought the
bolt that held it on was loose so I tried to tighten it. I found that it would not turn and appeared to be as tight as it should be. Despite the fact that the
bolt appear to be tight the cover was still very loose. I tired to see if it would come off and in fact it...

Alain,

I bought Cobra floorboards as soon as possible after buying my T in '99. My right foot always felt like it was going to fall off the right footpeg (a
scary proposition at 70 mph!) and as though with the brake pedal position the T was not meant for footpegs. The Cobra floorboards fit perfectly. It did seem
as though the T was designed for floorboards even though they do not come from the factory with them. I recommend that you get some floorboards. You feet,

I don't think I do that, but my mechanic accused me of favoring the rear brake. This is because there appeared to be excessive wear on the rear pad
compared to the front. Having become conscious of this, I noticed that while breaking I tend to hold the rear brake down the whole time I'm stopping and
tend to apply the front break only part of the time.

Even with floorboards I have to rest my right foot cocked to the side a bit to keep my foot off the brake. A friend showed me...

Okay here is another "BRAKE" related topic that I discovered while on Americade that I also don't like what I found out.

Let me preface this by saving, I probably should keep my mouth shut about this and not disclose how stupid I feel about it. However I'm certain that
I'm probably not the only one who has done this so I will confess to it and hopefully someone else will learn from it.
The issue is that during my ride(s) on Americade I was riding with...

Thanks Stan....that is reassuring to hear. Makes sense too. I've only got 4K miles on my T so fatigue factor is probably not an issue but age of the
gromment could be. So I'll replace it and know that it is as good as it can be.

Yes I do, and it is part of the design to prevent the cover from failing from metal stress caused by engine vibrations. It also prevents the cover from
sounding off from the same vibrations. If the rubber grommet is beginning to crumble from age, then you should go ahead and replace it. If it looks OK, then
leave it be. The fact that it feels loose means that the rubber grommet is likely still soft and in good condition.
