Last year at the Hoot I was parking bikes (directing traffic) and a guy started to get off his bike without putting the kickstand down. We were parking
everybody pretty tight, and I had this horrible vision of a long row of motorcycle dominoes. I yelled out something, sprinted a couple steps over to the bike,

Fast forward to this year now riding a Tourer with a safety switch. I still make certain I am in neutral before extending the kickstand, but I've played

don't want to get pinned between the bike and the pumps.

As for saving a bike... with the engine and saddlebag guards, not much is going to get hurt, as long as the bike does not hit anything on the way down.

CT,

To avoid having to do what you so valiantly accomplished, I have learned to always stop my bikes by putting their kickstands down. That way I only have to
remember to turn the key off and the worst that can happen if I do not is I drain the battery. Fortunately for me the few times that I have forgotten to turn
the key off someone has always mentioned I left my lights on. I would highly recommend that anytime you intend to park your bike that you do not use the key
or kill...
