I just received a set of Show chrome side covers for my 98 T. The right cover (lock side) does not seem to fit. I can't get the pegs lined up to the
grommets. It almost appears that the cover is too flat. Anyone else have experience with these chrome side covers? Republic Cycle indicated that they had
success on 99 and newer but the item is listed as 98 and newer. They have agreed to take them back if they won't work but I did want to check out this
forum to see if anyone had...

I guess they were packed a bit too tight in the shipping box and the one on top got a bit warped. Since I tried installing within 5 minutes of opening the box
the right one had not had a chance to "remember" it's correct shape.

I not only added the chrome side covers I also just installed the chrome radiator grill from JC Whitney. I think they look great but just after I installed
them I called my wife into the garage and asked her what she thought and her reply was...

Cointoken....wasn't that a strange circumstance? I can't even imagine that happening. What's most important is that the guys at Republic Cycle were
willing to work with you.

So how do they look?

As a follow up, I was ready to send them back but I decided to give them one more try. Guess what, they fit! Apparently the right cover had gotten slightly
flattened in shipping and after a few days came back to it's original shape. BTW, the Guys at Republic Cycle were great to deal with. Really prompt
service and follow up.

Yep! Had the same problem with mine. I wonder if they actually are for a "T" or if the Sabre or Ace has a different cover. I bought mine used and so
I took a heat gun and heated the lower part with the bottom peg and bent it outward or put more curve in it. It fits now but it wrinkled the chrome plating
under there. You have to bend down to see it, so I use them. If I had bought them new I would send them back and try another set.
