So, what exactly is the proper measurement technique for checking oil?


When I first bought the bike, not knowing better, I measured it over on the stand, up to the full line on the dipstick with the dipstick fully screwed in.


Then I either read here or was told at the shop that the bike had to be upright and I was overfilling.


Then I read here that the oil was prone to &quot;foaming&quot; in the T if overfilled.


Then I read here that the dipstick should be unscrewed, not screwed... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ The proper way to check oil is with the bike balanced upright and on a level surface (front to back), and not screwing the dipstick in. I&#39;ve found that it
also makes a slight difference if the handlbars are turned vs. straight when balancing the bike. I think this is done this way because it eliminates the
variables associated with whether you have the bike leaned over more at one time than the other when on the side stand. I don&#39;t like having to balance the
bike with one hand and... ]]></description>
