Besides. If there's to be no smoking, it's only fair to have no dippin' neither. Then Rick and UC wouldn't come.

I'm uncertain of the exact date but I believe it was immediately after Bob and Sue announced they quit. I've been smoke free since mid-July also. It seems that everytime I quit smoking and then go on...

I had sleep apnea also, Bob. I say "had" because I opted for the surgery last fall, and so far have been able to stay off the CPAP for over 9 months. (Ain't that CPAP a weird but wonderful feeling once you get used to it?) I could not believe the difference it made in my energy level, not to mention that it also eliminated my snoring. Wow Bob....those are some pretty impressive numbers from your sleep clinic. With numbers like that your CPAP machine should be improving your sleep dramatically. I've been on my CPAP for two years now and I won't be without it.

Thanks for asking Dan. Sue has been smoke free for 23 days and me for 14 days. No problems....we are doing as you said...one day at a time.
We are also doing the weight loss thing at the same time. I know that is crazy to some but we both believe that both can be done together. Sue has lost 12 pounds and me....9 pounds.
On top of all that, I went through a sleep clinic recently and it was determined that I stop breathing 29 times per hour and wake during REM sleep 50 times per...

My whole life time I have been gaining and losing weight. I've managed to lose 60 pounds twice and 50 pounds twice and 35-40 pounds several times....

I really only had two problems to over come when I quit.
I did not drink a beer, or anything else alcoholic, for 12 years after I quit smoking!!
Also. I started smoking when I was about 12 or 13 years old. I had no image of myself as a nonsmoker. That, actually, was the hardest thing to over come.
I could not be a smoker today because of the cost! When I quit smoking, they were 50 cents a pack. There is no way in this world that I would give 3 bucks...

I quit smoking in 1981. One day at a time, one week at a time, one month at a time, one year at a time. The 1st thing I had to do was to temporarily stop doing the things that made me want to smoke....like hanging with other smokers, drinking too much, eating too much, etc. My brother and my dad stopped the same way. It took me almost a year before I could drink 2 beers w/o dying for a smoke, but I fought it off by avoiding drinking more than 2 beers at a time. After over 26 years, I barely...

What a trip we just completed. We made it to five of the six states we had planned. We traveled in Minnesota, Iowa,Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. We did not make it to South Dakota....I will explain in a bit.
My wife Sue and I started our journey Saturday morning July 14th and headed Southwest through Minnesota and Northwest Iowa. We traveled the paved back roads and hit every small town we could find. Each small hamlet had it's own special flair. In Denison, IA they touted...
