From what Stan is describing it sounds like the same ole way that the Model A headlight use to be aimed. The whole unit swivelled on a stem unit it was bolted down. Then it locked in place.

Fred, the lights on my Cobra billet light bar were fully adjustable in all directions. I returned the mounts to Cobra for chrome peel and they sent me back a whole new complete light set. I sold the new set to help pay for the set I have now. I still have the light pods from the old set and there is a slot on the underside of the light housings that allows vertical height adjustments. This slot is partially covered by the bell shaped bolt cover. Maybe your's has these slots and they are...

I am not sure what the deal is with the Cobra lightbar, but it seems to me the angle of the light stalks does not quite match up with the rake of the forks, thus the spots beam out too low and too close to the bike to be useful except for illuminating the ground immediately ahead at parking lot speeds. It seems strange to me that Cobra would miss the mark this badly, unless that was their intension (not to blind on-coming drivers). It certainly would have been better if...

Thanks Fred.....that was timely information. I never gave it a thought that the design of the Cobra would restrict its functionality. I suppose if they were just for day time riding it works well, but at night, they may prove to be bothersome.

Personally I like the ones that Stan (bamarider) has on his T. I like them because they allow the turnsignals to remain in place.

The Cobra spotlights do not have near the adjustability that I want. You can swivel them in any horizontal direction so it is easy to spread the light out, but the vertical angle adjustment is almost non-existent, so the most I can get them to shine ahead of the bike is about 30 feet which is much, much less than the low beam. I suppose I could design some hardware so that I could shine those spots at the same level as the low beam, but so far I have not bothered because I...

Hey Fred thanks, I've been on Cobra's web page and maybe that's were I've seen them. The one I have on my bike now is one that the previous owner had made, not a bad job but I feel like they need to come out more so the lights will be spread farther apart.

Wayne,

That auxiliary lighting unit, seen on Terry's new pride and joy, is made specifically to fit through the T's windsheild. It is one of Cobra's fine products. I don't know if rightly it should be called a lightbar since it is not a bar. What it is is two light stalks that attach to the left and right forks. It probably would not be good for business if Cobra advertised them as light stalks.

I rode Bribaby52's Tourer last fall and have wanted one of my own ever since. Searched for months to find this one. Was prepared to drive to Wilson, NC to look at one when I found this one 80 miles from home. Rode the Spirit there the next day and rode the Tourer home. How sweet it is!
