wow, i think that first photo with the yellow flames going to blue tips on the wine base color looks very sharp. which ever you decide on, please be sure to post some finish photos!

I really like that particular flame layout also , and have already decided that this is the type flames I will be getting on my T . I really like the way they intertwine as well as the basic layout , clean and uncluttered . If you look around at flame jobs alot of the flames you see seem to be really fat and not at all streamlined like these are . Alot of people like them that way , but I really like the thinner more streamlined flames that allow you more of the base color to be seen . It...

I know that you are looking at colors and I really don't have any comment about the color you choose. What I really do like are the flames in top photo that cross over each other. Any reasonably good painter can get flames on but a painter who can do cross-over flames is really good and it shows in the finished work.

I really like the wine color in the top photo the best. It's a nice contrast of colors w/o clashing with each other. Being a Crimson Tide fan, I could never bring myself to orange and blue on anything. It just seems so unnatural to me. LOL

Thanks for all of the input guys . I really like the wine color alot , but the blue is running a close second . And I might still decide to go with high gloss black , or red , maybe yellow . I am really lost in all of the great looking choices for a base color . One thing I have learned in all of this is that I really like the basic flames like the ones in the pic of the wine colored Harley tins . Alot of the ones I have seen were far too busy , or just not very nice at all .

Shadow Sabre's came with old school flames in '07 and (I think) '05. These are decals, but a guy I work with has a Sabre and people are always coming up and asking him who did his flames. You could save a ton of money by having your tins painted black, buying the decal kit at the dealer and have your painter install them.

To me the flames on the wine colored bits looks pretty good. The yellow on the red does not look bad either, although it is second to the wine components, but like Skip, of the ones you have presented so far I like the red semi-ghost flames on the black tank the best. I know you are looking for retro and that is not retro but I like it none-the-less. Because of my propensity for blue, if I wanted retro I probably would pick the yellow-orange-red flames on the almost...

I really like the bottom one too , but it is not really an old school design . This is one of the few more modern paint designs I think would look good for the T though . I am not really into alot of the newer designs , but this one has a touch of classic design to it with the more modern single color fade .

When I first started thinking about flaming the T that was my first thought , gloss black with flames . Then I started looking around online some and now I am not sure what color I want . There are alot of really good color combinations that still look retro . I really like ghost flames as well , but for the T I think a retro style will better fit the image of the bike .

Well , a friend of mine accidentally hit my bike the other day . This helped me to make a decision I have been thinking about since we decided to keep the T for our bigger bike . I am going to have the T painted . I am not sure what colors to use , but I am fairly sure I want some old school flames like the old 50's hot rods had . My painter wants to go with a satin black , but I am not really sure I want to go that far with it . I really like bright shiney items , and am not real sure...
