Well then, there ya go. Almost as good as starting it up yourself. The chapter (#38 Rogersville, AL) was also in the process of starting up when I joined. They branched off from chapter 102 in Huntsville, AL because that chapter was getting too big and the area is growing rapidly. Good luck with your venture.

Well, I took your advise Stan, and joined the SCRC. As it turns out the Greenville, SC chapter was and is in the process of rebuilding, and I have volunteered to be 2nd Officer for this chapter.

So, I would like to invite anyone to look us up if you are in the area. The website for Greenville is being revamped and should offer more info, but you can contact me, and I will get you whatever info you need. I have only gone on one ride so far, and everyone was very safe, and had a...

I agree with BamaTrider. There are all kinds of clubs out there and really no need to start up something new. I started out with the SCRC and made some good friends and recently lost a good friend that I had met through a multi-chapter lunch ride.

Have you considered "Southern Cruisers Riding Club" in your area. I'm a member of our local chapter and have found a chapter in Greenville also (Chapter #090). We get together once a month for a meeting to plan rides, but also can plan rides on our own through their web forum and site. Here is a link if you are interested. I am thinking about starting a ride group in the Greenville, SC area. My plan is to try to get together once a month or once every other month at first and then see where it goes from there. At first the rides would be organized via email and not necessarily involve anything more organized than that, but who knows what the future holds. I am planning to plot routes mostly to the north in the mountains, but also to the southeast and southwest of Greenville for when the weather turns colder....
