I guess my writing isn't so clear. It's not my pedal bike with ape hangers......... it's the local Harley riders. The MCAS is in Yuma.... about a
mile from our back door. I was in US Navy aviation. We picked Yuma cause we have family in this trailer park and the living is relatively inexpensive. Yuma is
much like CC 25 years ago....... before it got too big for its britches and built up. As for armed citizens I get a feeling of safety knowing there are many
responsible armed...

alan.....the picture you painted of Yuma is not quite what I imaged. At least not the cold part. I can understand why you like to live there but you never
explained how you came to select Yuma especially when you spoke so highly of Corpus Christi. Why did you not select CC?

One other note in your posting was the reference to the Marine Corps Air Base at San Diego. Were you in the service? My wife and I were suppose to go to the
Marine Corps Air Base this past October for the Air...

Why did we pick Yuma? We only live here for the winter. Our main home is on Vancouver Island in BC Canada where we spend 7 months in spring thru fall. I lived
most of my adult life in Corpus Christi,Tx and only moved to Canada in 2000. Yuma reminds me a lot of CC about 25 years ago. CC winter weather is nicer than
Yuma though. Nights here are quite cold........ low 40's........ and days in the 60's 70's. We're spending Christmas in CC and it will be my
first time back there...

Alan....from your description I understand your title about the "time warp".

On another note I'd like to ask you a question as a future retiree. From all that I have read about Yuma and how hot it gets there, why did you and your
wife pick this place as your winter home? What attracted you to this part of the country?

I believe it was you in an earlier posting, talking about getting a trailer to take your T with you to Yuma. Did you ever get the trailer and do...
