Update on my fuel leak issue. Turns out that Stan nailed it, the very end of the tank side hose had lost its hold on value. Snipped off the end and squeezed the hose clamp in order for it to be a little tighter and oh ya!! no more leak.

If it turns out not to be the filter, then it may be that the fuel lines have hardened from the cold and have lost their sealing abilities. One of my other bikes would develop a coolant leak whenever the temps got below freezing, but would go away after the temps got warmer. Replacing the rubber o-ring seal didn't solve it either, but putting a heat lamp near the engine did.

They are plastic and will crack, but guess the freezing theory makes sense too, if it got that cold in your garage and the filter contained enough water to expand that much.....Bob <><

I had the plastic fuel filter crack and leak on me last summer. it seemed to just crack of old age. so i guess it was due to be changed!

Nix....be certain that you get back to us and report on what you had found. I never thought of this one and it makes for an excellent reason to change one's fuel filter frequently. Hope you don't find anything more serious than that.

So after crabing about how cold it is up here I walk into my garage and am confronted with the smell of gasoline! I proceed to track the smell to my "T" It would apear in the last two days of minus 40 the bike developed a fuel leak I t appears to be coming from or around the fuel filter.

I really hop that it is just a case of the fuel filter having some moisture in it and maybe...
