spend more for your oil?". I told him I run 10-40 Pennzoil without friction modifiers. He told me that even though it's water cooled, my bike runs
hotter than a car engine, (It doesn't. Most cars today have 205 degree thermostats. I'm pretty sure our T's have a 180.) it has higher compression

That's another reason for using synthetic oil, vs. dino oil. Dino oils can inhibit moisture which reacts with petroleum oil to make acid. The acid eats
away at the metal surfaces of your engine and bearings while in storage for long periods of time. Full synthetics do not inhibit moisture and therefore no acid
is produced. This is the reason most auto museums use Mobile 1 full synthetic in the vehicles that are on display for long periods.

Now, if you ride your bike regularly,...

filter. I know people who go 15k miles before changing, and some who shave that to 10k mile intervals. I doubt I'll push it more than 10k before changing
the oil, but the extra long intervals vs. dino oil off-sets the extra cost of using Amsoil. Whether it's that much better than changing the dino every 3k
miles would be......I...
