Alepel, About that new cold weather clothing, it was the VASO heated glove liners. Check them out here:

http://www.vaso.tv/northamerica.html

They seem to work OK, but I ran out of ride days and cold weather, and didn't get to give them a real test. If you look at the site, they only need a
single AA battery for 8-10 hours because they only heat the very tips of your fingers, not a lot of heating...

That was pretty convincing. If a person that has never lifted a motorcycle before and is hesitant to do so, especially considering quitting halfway through,
if she can do it, then anybody should be able to do it.

Was getting my Venture Royale out for a ride last Saturday and as I was going to put the sidestand down, it started going over with me facing it. I scooted
forward and wedged my legs onto the side and grabbed the handlebar with my left hand and grabbed for the passenger grab rail with my right. Since I didn't
have my butt to push, I had to do a lot more work with my arms. I would have let it go, but it was very close to my car parked next to it and some damage would
have been on both!...

These steps are for a bike that has fallen on its left side.
1. Hit the kill switch. Make sure the motor is off.
2. Turn the gas off if necessary

3. Make sure the bike is in gear if you can get to it. If it is not in gear and you can't get it in gear, the technique becomes more difficult, but it can
still be done.

4. Standing with your butt toward the seat, stoop down and with your right hand take the left grip.
