I drew up a simple backrest extender design and had my buddy at work make them out of aluminum for me. They work very nice and raise the backrest a total of 1
5/8" putting the support higher on the back for the rider. I'm sharing a drawing and some pics for anyone who wants to do the same.

Hi and THANKS BamaTrider - I STILL get requests for those backrest extenders! Hubby FINALLY made the time to get a few sets cut so I have some available. If
anyone wants the raw unfinished product, please EMAIL me. $10.00 covers the material cost and shipping in the continental USA.

I also have a pair made by Sunshine Biker Gal's hubby(thanks hubby), and the adjustable part of these are great. My wife never complains any more about her
back and she can adjust it any way she wants. One of the BEST things i have added to the bike.

Sunshine Biker Gal's hubby did these out of 3/16" steel and had them chromed. I have them now and they are adjustable forward and aft to change the
back rests angle of lean. I'm not too sure I would trust the alum for this because there is a lot of pressure on that small area around the back rest legs.
I see no reason you couldn't do the same as yours in steel for more strength.
