It sounds like the height you have is perfect, but the real test is to see where the airstream goes when you are riding at cruising speeds. Typically a windshield that is 3" to 4" lower than your eyes are best. That way you can look over the windshield, but the airstream still goes over the top of your helmet. If you want to know where the airstream goes with your current windshield, get up to highway speed, then use your left hand to track it from the top of the windshield back towards your helmet.
