JB weld for exhaust?

         Hi everyone!

Had a good look underneath the bike this week, and the exhaust at one point has a crack in the weld (lot of rust down there - part of all the TLC my T needs).
It's running fine, but if I don't address this I know it'll be trouble down the line. So here's the question:

Will JB weld do the trick? Do I first use some steel wool (if so, what's the best gauge for this), and then apply JB weld? I gather it has a necessary
drying time - what is that? Has anybody...

Take it off and take it down to your local muffler shop, or a good welding shop and have it professionally welded. If the break was caused by metal fatigue,
then patching it with a compound will not hold up no matter what the product manufacturer claims. I've tried a lot of methods on my tractors exhaust and
welding is the only thing that has worked long term. Trust me on this.........I have been there, done that.

Q: Will J-B Weld work on an automotive exhaust?

A: Because of the extreme temperatures of exhaust systems, we do not recommend J-B Weld for use on exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters. Nor do we
recommend the product for repairs within the combustion chamber. http://jbweld.net/faq.php
