Nate.....I don't know if this is going to help you or not, but I use to have a 88 Honda VT800C that had a hydraulic clutch that gave me some problems. I do not believe I had the same problem as you. My problem was that I lost the clutch and could not disengage the clutch. The clutch lever would move with absolutely no resistance.

I bled the clutch line numerous times and could not restore the pressure in the line. Finally I took the clutch reservoir completely apart and found...

Hi, I've already posted for this problem but I think I have a clearer understanding of my problem. I just bought an 84 Honda Shadow VT700. The bike has clutch issues. The clutch works fine during about 10-15 minutes of riding, then eventually fails to fully catch. It still goes through the gears, but the discs fail to grab and eventually, the bike won't move at all. But, if I immediately bleed the clutch line, the clutch works fine again.
