im a short guy and i would like a drivers backrest. does anybody have a seat commendation that i can look for that will not hinder my being able to firmly
keep both feet on the ground at standstill. i realize some seats are widder than others and i dont wanna feel like im ridding a horse while on my bike. the
passenger backrests are a whole different story is what i am gathering. once you find the right seat then you can go for the passenger seat is that the right
way to do that? thanks...

RG,

Mike Corbin designs his saddles to be comfortable when riding and makes no bones about them not being comfortable when stopped or whether the rider can get his
feet on the ground. In that regard Saddlemen seats with their narrow front sections are better for people who normally have trouble getting their feet flat on
the ground when stopped.

I had expected the Corbin solo seat, which is a good inch and a half lower, to give me more sure-footedness, but its shape forces the legs out wider, which
defeats that purpose. I don't regret buying it ('specially since I got it used), since I like the look and it supports my lower back better, but the
result was not what I expected.

Shaving down the sides of the front part of the saddle got my feet closer to the ground. We also shaved down some of the foam to lower the rest of the seat,
then inserted a gel pad for comfort. (there's video of the seat project on my T's
webpage). I guess hubby decided my backrest fabrication is on hold until we get my bobber put together...
Good luck to you - may you ride in comfort!

Try going through life being 5'5"! I've never been able to stand flat footed on any motorcycle I've ever owned, or ridden for that matter.

You didn't mention this.....Are you not happy with the stock seat? If you are happy with it there are several driver backrest attachments that work well on
the T. I owned a couple before I bought my Mustang Wide Vintage w/ driver's backrest. (THe backrest was more important to me at first.) By going to bike
events like...

I have to disagree that the Mustang Vintage Wide lowers your seating position, okay, matbe it lowers the position, but because of the wideness your legs seem
shorter...confused yet. I'm 5ft 9in. On the OEM seat I could touch the ground flat foot. After putting the Mustang on I no longer can do that. I love the
seat, the comfort and the look, but miss having my feet flat on the ground.

bike after he got his.
