To me they are all over priced for what they are. You can now buy a laptop for less money. But that being said, I love my Garmin and have used it more for finding businesses and people with adds for something they needed to sell. Sure beats writing down all those directions because not everyone can give good directions. I have the Garmin i3 that I received for fathers day last year. my refurbished 2720 was about $350 last September, now a 550 zumo is available for $400!?? after coupon. Man I should have waited. or add those two prices up and I should have bought a zumo from the beginning. depending on how you look at it. such is electronics

I thought I got a good deal on my Zumo 450 last Fall, but the Zumo 550 is now the same price. I really like the Zumo product line. I've used mine both on car trips and motorcycle trips, in the cities, on the backroads and especially in the mountains. It's good everywhere. I almost don't use my maps anymore.

Tony, that is a great deal. I'm one of those people who never gets lost, HONEST. It drives my wife nuts that I can get out in the back woods and find my way out with only a chewing gum wrapper and a dead squirl. What I like about a GPS is that if you have a break down out in the middle of someplace and nowhere, it will give you coordinates that can be relayed to another person. hey tony,
i didn't mean anything by the post, i think it's great you gave out the info for those who might be looking for one. my point was i've personally lived without one for 64 years and think i've gotten around pretty good. part of my joy in riding is just taking off for a few days and traveling...wherever i end up, that's where i spend the night. if i was traveling from point A to point B, i usually mapquest beforehand and that works for me.

and I can promise you that the only people that don't like them are the people that haven't used them. I have probably 15 fcriends that all said the same thing until they used mine and now they all have at least one. Now you don't have to get lost to find those off beaten paths. The GPS will take you there with the confidence that you will get back easily!

only a deal if you need one. i often wonder how people survived years ago without a gps and a cell phone. heck, my insurance man gives me a new road atlas whenever i need one.
i used to travel a lot and half the fun of getting someplace was being lost and taking that "shortcut" you knew was just around the corner.
guess i'm just too dang old for all the gadgets that are around....

I found this on another forum http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?p=312759#post312759 saying some Best Buy's had the zumo550's on closeout for $529. I thought surly I can't be this lucky. The website said $899 and only two area stores had any in stock, so I stopped into the closest best buy anyway last night and found it on clearance for $729, an ok price but not a smoking hot deal....
