 My T is the same one on the forum this month. I wish the luscious brunette came along with my ride, aslo! I'm the only Ace T rider in my club in western Michigan. The "Dr." is in! Had some fun checking out the website. I'm in Ohio so I'm not too far from the Wolverine state. I've camped allot near Whitehall, MI. and I love the west coast of your beautiful state.

Nice website. I like the little guy's 'T' shirt. I like the Muskegon area. Fredrider and I spent the night there last September. Three of my kids have been to Blue Lake. It seems like I end up in Muskegon for something 3-6 times a year. Ride safe. Putz |

Skip - the yellow shadow is an '86, good eye. I sold it with 64K miles on it and it was still running strong. I expect no less with the "T". I do miss the 50 mpg, though.
Bugler101, from Ohio - great state to ride in. If you're ever up for an adventure, check out road 555 running from Zanesville to Marietta (I think?) in the SE part of the state. That is truly the craziest, most unpredictable road I've ever been on. A friend described it as a "paved cowpath." The road signs (speed and upcoming turns) are deceiving, so take it easy. |

After owning an '87 VT700C for almost 11 years it ain't hard to pick a '86 or '87 out in a crowd. I wish I could have kept my '87. The 1987 VT700 was the last of the tariff bikes. It was truly the last of it's kind.

Ohio Rt. 555 - I searched the web for info on the raod and found loads of stuff. What bike did the "Dr." take on that road? After some of the comments I read I might want to explore that road on my 550 Super Sport.

I used my '86 Shadow 700 on Ohio 555. This is the kind of road you take for kicks & a good laugh. It is extremely challenging, and I wouldn't try it with speed in mind. My shadow was very light and easy to maneuver - important on this road.
The roads are banked contrary to what you'd expect going into a turn. The roadsigns are a JOKE! A sign might show you a left turn with a suggested speed of 25 mph. What you don't know is you have to first take a sharp right, just after you come over a rise, and then take a left hairpin at 15 mph. There are little, if any, shoulders. Gravel over the road can be expected. Watch for many unmarked and unseen driveways. Also, there are times when the road slims to a one-lane width. After riding this road, you will be not only mentally exhausted (adrenaline rush the whole time), but you'll laugh your head off at what you just experienced. Anyhow, about your sportbike. I don't ride for speed, but that type of bike would be fun on 555 b/c it's easy to maneuver and has good brakes. I'd take it easy on the throttle, though. |

Good advice and counsel. I'll probably take the "T" on the road since I have a ride to get there. I'm dying to get out on the road right now, it's been two weeks since I've taken a ride.

Two weeks since your last ride!!! Don't rub it it. I live in Michigan and have at least 8 more weeks before the possibility of a ride.
Just a reminder. When I did the ride, I was with others who knew the route well. As I remember, it wasn't the easiest route to follow, not very well marked. I probably would have got lost on my own. Hope you have a detailed map. Anywho, hope you enjoy yourself. Be careful and tell me what you think. |
