Need help with an old issue. I have the stock/mag wheels on my '99 T and have a heck of a time cleaning them. The recommendations that I have received to date have not worked to my satisfaction. We don't normally expect to see new members joining us from the Member's Bikes section but that's okay. You joined and that's what's more important. Perhaps later you'll go over to the New Member tread and tell us more about yourself and family and riding experiences. We're a downright friendly group here and take a genuine interest in our members. An interesting question you asked about cleaning the wheels on your T. That subject has been dealt with many times over and over and you can get all the answers you need if go cruise on over to the Appearance and Detailing Thread just a little further down. I think you'll find the answers you're looking for. Skip has created a great place for us to play and we are all thankful to Skip and everyone who joins us. This place reminds me of the old time baseball players from "Field Of Dreams" when Kevin Costner built the baseball field in Iowa. As Alain said, There are some great wheel cleaning ideas, but most involve a little elbow grease. It is all worth it as the results are wonderful. Bob

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 3706 04/01/08 10:33 PM	Just cleaned my neglected rear wheel from the road tar and grime I inherited from the original owner. I used Simple Green professional strength degreaser to clean off the built up brake dust, then followed with ample amount of WD-40 to safely dissolve and remove the road tar spots. From there I used Mother's Alum. Polish in the tub and lots of elbo grease. While it does not quite have the glow that the front wheel does, it still looks pretty darn good and is a vast improvement from the state it was originally in. HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 280 04/02/08 10:06 PM Tail Gunner	Hi Mike, Welcome to the forum and good luck with getting those rims cleaned. I talked to a friend of mine that rides Goldwing and he had both his rims chromed as he just got tired of trying to clean them. Long story short, he sent both rims to an outfit in California ( in the off season) and had them chromed at a cost of approximately $600.00 for both. Kind of expensive on the pocket book but if you're interested, let me know. John
