I had to loosen the cables at the carb. In between the cable end mounts just under the left side of the tank there is a couple of screws that holds the bracket on. Just take those screws out and the hole thing will come loose enough to allow you to pull some slack on the grip end. It's not much but just enough. Once the grip is hooked then re-attach the bracket to the carbs. You don't even have to take the tank off. Don't loosen the cable lock nuts now or you will have to reset the length again. Just dis-mount the bracket that they are in as a unit.

Yep Stan nailed that one 2 screws on the cable rocker you will have it back together in no time. DO NOT THROW THE HAMMER !!! They always find the most fragile thing in the garage to hit

on the coolant:
make sure the fan is working. try spinning it by hand. methinks someone on here had posted their fan was stuck due to mud and dirt but once freed, it worked. let the bike idle for a 15-20 minutes and the fan should kick on a few times. else the sensor or relay could be bad. head gasket? if that were the problem, compression leaking into the cooling system would make it burp pretty soon after starting the engine. to check this would require a system pressure tester. thermostat. even if it is only 30F, if the coolant can't get to the radiator, the engine can overheat. the hose to the radiator should be warm after the engine has been running. If both are cold, the thermostat may be stuck. sometimes a cooling system will burp if air is trapped in a low spot. refill the system, top off the overflow tank to the correct level and see if it does it again. these are generic ideas that are the starting place when diagnosing a cooling system problem. ride safe, ride often duke |

I will Certainly Try all those options and hopefully 1 of them is correct and i don't need a new radiator

Update! ISO Grip Problem Solved!. Coolant not solved let it idle for 30 min no fan and no collant leak and no idiot light hmmm there is fluid in the resivoir dunno i'll try more ideas
Took it down the road a couple miles rode around my block a few times and then the fan kicked on still no collant puking. gonna drain the coolant and refill and then ride awhile and see if it does it again, who knows maybe a fluke? -Chris Harley Rider: I can't ride with Jap Crap!

My Beautiful 2000 T
puked a little coolant one time and has never done it again. I don't remember what the conditions were at the time, but it has only done it the one time. It also puked a small amount of final drive oil one time. Same as the above, never did it again.![]() ![]() Rick The BIKE is why we came, the PEOPLE is why we stay! |

I might, I am curious to is it still silicate and phosphate free coolant that will work fot the T? In other posts those are the only 2 points of neccesity in Coolant for the T. I made the mistake of reading all of the prev. posts and am now thouroughly confused about it.

use silicate free. Not sure about phosphate.
