I wasn't looking for a bike (it's been a while) when I stumbled into a 98 Tourer ACE for sale I couldn't resist 2 weeks ago. So as I try to spend a
little seat time reacclimating myself to riding and getting to know the bike I was hoping to find a forum like this. My bike is pretty close to stock but I
already have a desire enhance a few things. I'd appreciate any help with links/advice regarding do's dont's etc. and info on exhausts, intakes and
accessories. (I'd like a tach, floorboards and some not humongus crash bars.) Thanks for checking this out and I hope to be corresponding with a bunch of
you soon.
The best to all. |

Let me be the first to say "Howdy". Where yall from? (lots of good ol southern boys and girls on here and it rubs off). I'm from western
Washington. You'll find answers to your questions if you check out all of the tech threads.

Hello from N. Alabama and welcome to our family. Please feel free to open up and tell us more about yourself. We are a nosy but friendly bunch and a few of us
are even close to being sane.
I am assuming that you don't want the crash bars like the ones on my bike below. Well, there are some smaller ones made by MC Enterprises that were called Engine Guards and fit a little closer and lower to the frame. Unfortunately, I don't believe these are made anymore. I may know of where I can find you a used set and will get back to you. If you do go with full sized crash bars, then shy away from the MC brand full size bars because they will interfere with the stock windshield. Stan

Welcome to the forum from Upstate New York. Like you I just bought my 98 Tourer serial number 000012 one week ago. It had been hiding from me for four years
but I managed to find her.
You've got to open up and tell us more about yourself, your family, where you live, what you do for a living and ya da, ya da, ya da. If you're not too familiar with this forum, you will learn that we are more of a brotherhood with genuine interest and concerns about all our members. So don't be afraid to tell us more about yourself. All of your questions have been asked and answered here before. Check out some of the topics in the technical section and if that doesn't work try the search engine on this forum. It really works very well. Once again welcome. I'm looking forward to 'talking' with you more in the future. alepel |

Welcome to the Forum Bernese! For a tachometer I would recommend a Drag Specialties mini-tach. I have been using one for the last 6 years. Motorcycle Cruiser
has a comparison of the 6 tachometers available through the following link:

Welcome Bernesedaddy. I'm curious, does "Bernese" have anything to do with a certain dog? My daughter has a Bernese. He is one of the most mild
mannered, faithful and good tempered dogs I have ever been around. He is very protective of her 2 year old. They have many coyotes where she lives in Colorado
and when my granddaughter is outdoors playing in the yard they have no worries when "Toby" is babysitting.
