Welcome to the Brotherhood and congratulations on getting your T. What were you riding before the T? What made you decide to buy the Tourer? Please drop by the
Number of T's Mfg thread when you get a chance and
add your bike to the list. Good to have you here Tony. Look forward to hearing more about you and your bike.

Well I'm only 19 so i can recall what my first bike was, which was a 1982 Yamaha Exciter (Sr250).. it fit me when i was 15 to 16. Which then i upgraded to
a 1993 Honda NightHawk (cb750). It was all right except i'm a big guy now and a little sport-touring bike was not going to cut it on those long hauls. i
sold it a few months ago . I was looking at anything that fell in to the cruiser category. I found the T in cycle trader, so i took a trip down to Deland to
check it out . The very second when the dealer pointed out the bike to me i fell in love. I could not believe it. It was exactly what i have been looking for.
The only problem i have with the bike is basically cosmetic, the previous owner had dumped the bike which dented the tank and put a large scratch on the side bag and on the front fender. Pics i took @ the dealership can be found here my photobucket I will take more pictures later And so that's my story. |

It looks like the former owner added a Mustang seat and Cobra Swept floorboards. The damage to the bag looks as if it's just to the lid. Was there any
damage to the bag itself? What is the mileage? Again congrats on the bike and if you have any question at all just shout 'em out.
BTW, your previous ride, the Night Hawk is a sharp looking machine. "We want to be free... Free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man!" |

Welcome to the Forum Deagle. Congrats on your purchase of a red & black T. I hope you can quickly get it around to looking like your ideal bike.
How big are you? I'm 6' 2" tall with a 34.5" inseam and own an '02NH, presently with 16,000 miles on her. To get her comfortable to me I bought a custom seat from Rocky Mayer that is pushed 1" back and 1" higher. In addition I put on Flanders handlebars that are 2" taller and some engine guards with highway pegs attached. That put me in a riding position somewhat the same as my T, except I have highway pegs instead of floorboards to get in that comfy position. I also had to replace the front fork springs with Progressives to keep from bottoming-out on the bigger potholes. Further I installed a 24" tall CMP shaped windshield with build in lowers as well as some 41 liter Givi saddlebags. I really like having both a cruiser-tourer and a sport-tourer. Switching back and forth keeps me from getting bored and both of my bikes have all-day, all-week comfort for those several motorcycle trips I take every year. Are you taller than 6' 2"?

Hey, Tony. Welcome to the T family. Looks like you have a blank canvas to work with. You get to paint it any color you'd like. I was going to direct you to
a string of threads where NCTourer did a mock up of our bikes with different color combos, but when I checked them them images were gone. I guess we lost them
during the change over.

Tony....welcome to the forum from the state of New York. We don't keep official statistics but I'd be willing to bet that you are our youngest member.
19 years old and owning a Tourer. How impressive is that. Most of us are old enough to be your grandfather but we all share the same love for the T that you
do. So you'll fit in here just fine.
Again welcome to the forum and I look forward to 'talking' with you more in the future. alepel |

Welcome to the brotherhood from one of the older farts that frequent it. Not riding anymore but still miss it greatly. Hope that You have a long and pain
free riding career. You have a wealth of knowledge to draw on here and they enjoy sharing it. Glad to see that some of the younger guys are turning to
something othe than the latest, biggest, fastest, superbike on the planet. Bet it was easier to find insurance for your Tourer. Again, welcome to the
brotherhood and remember to ride with the Spirit always and in all ways.

@ Skip mmshadowT The mileage was 33K and there doesn't appear to be any more damage other then the scratch..
@ Fredrider I'm 6'1 250LBS .. the Nighthawk was an awesome bike but the riding style did not fit me.. @ alepel I'm probably the youngest member but i know the value of a dollar just as much as the rest of ya.. The T and the Nighthawk were both purchased by myself.. took a lot of saving and work but damn I'm proud. I have updated the pictures with ones of the tank and front fender.. I want to fix the scratches on the fender and lid.. I took it to a paint shop and they said it would cost 600 bucks .. so does anyone have any ideas? Also any ideas on what to do with the tank..?

Tony, on the tank you have 2 options. Either replace it or repair it. Occasionally you will see one on ebay for sale. Might not be your colors, but paintable.
Your tank can also be repaired w/o too much filler. You'll need to remove it and drain all the gas from it. Wash it out real good with a good degreaser to
remove any gas residue and fumes. Any competent body shop should have a stud welder on hand. They'll need to grind all the paint off down to bare metal,
then weld a series of studs to the dented area. They then use a dent puller connected to the studs to gently pull the dent out. A little filler to smooth it
out, then paint, and your good as new.

Hey Tony,
Sorry I'm so late in greeting you. I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had a chance to keep as current as I usually do. Anyway, glad you found us. I hope you have a great time with your 'T'. Ride safe. Putz |
