Today was the first decent enough day for me to ride to work. Heading down my road toward the freeway I came upon a side street with a car stopped at a stop
sign. The first thing I thought was "That telephone pole is between me and the driver of that car. I bet he/she does not see me.". I moved over
to the left most portion of my lane and slowed down. Sure as chit, as I approached the intersection a high school kid pulled out in front of me. She was
shocked and shaken when she finally saw me, after I sounded my horn.
Again, I credit the Advanced MSF course for keeping me out of a crash. I don't know if I would have saw the potential hazard and planned an evasive course of action without the knowledge and training. Who knows, maybe the driver of the car learned to get a clear view of the road before proceeding.
