I'm getting ready to take delivery of a new fifth wheel trailer and a diesel pickup truck. My wife and I are selling the old homestead, and we're going to see the USA!
The problem that needs solving is, I don't want to see the USA from the inside of a cage.
Possible solutions:
- Pull a trailer behind the fifth wheel. The fifth wheel is over 35 feet long, and my bike trailer is about 15 feet long. I would have a total length of about 65 feet. I don't think that would be real easy at the local Gas-N-Go. I also think I'd spend a lot of time cleaning the T.
- Get a lighter bike and a bumper mount. The factory rep said that I can't put more than 200 pounds back there or I'll damage the frame. Even If I do this I'll have to have an extension of the frame fabricated, because the bumper isn't meant to carry anything except a sewer hose.
- Buy a light, all-plastic bike like a Pacific Coast or some kind of scooter and attach it to the front bumper? How about a Rebel 250?
Any ideas out there?
I know I should have
gotten a toy hauler, but one of us--I forget who--said, "There is absolutely no way I'm going to live inside of a trailer that smells like gasoline
exhaust!"
Suggestions on small bikes or bike hauling/carrying devices or both would be really appreciated!!
Thanks!
