I picked up a laptop with wireless capabilities, and I'm looking for cheap ways to get on the Internet.
I checked into a Sprint high-speed cellular Internet connection, but it is more than I want to spend, and coverage is spotty. I also checked into satellite Internet and that is way more expensive and requires costly, professional-grade equipment to get a really tight focus good enough for high-speed Internet connections.
A friend of mine says that when he travels, he goes to motel parking lots and checks for wi-fi signals. I can always stop in local libraries, but a lot of times they have 30 minute computer time limits. I'm told that more and more campgrounds have wi-fi....
Any suggestions or tips for picking up free Internet on the road?
