First Honda with two wheels |

Hey guys...just following instructions! I am new to the forum I don't have a lot to offer- mainly because I came here to find out all the things I have no
clue about (everything) HaHa. Been riding about two years now, feel I have a great group to ride with. I am on my second bike a 1998 Honda Ace Tourer. I
moved up from a Yamaha V Star 650 - which I thought was a sweet ride till I climbed up on this 1100. Just put two new tires on her and she is really riding
sweet. I love to piddle is the main reason I bought an older bike, but there is really not much to do but pamper her with Bling Bling (chrome) and take her
out and stroke her! She seems to keep herself together very well as long as someone is paying attention! I am leaving for the Ozarks in a week and would love
some suggestions for good day rides. Will be staying around the Mountain View area. That's it guys thanks for having me and I intend to listen and learn!

Welcome to the forum.
As for good rides in the Ozarks.........just pick a road. Their all good!! If you are close to the Ozarks, make sure to attend the Eureka Sprigs Ride Rally Ride the end of April next year. We ahve kind of adopted it as an official Spring T Rally. Keep an eye on the "Events" section. -Dan |

Welcome to the forum Clamb and the world of the Tourer. I found it interesting that you say you bought an older bike in order to tinker with. I believe that
your going to find out that there is not a whole lot of tinkering necessary with our Tourers. Just buying chrome and polish, polish, polish.
I envy you your upcoming trip to the Ozarks. I live in Upstate New York and I have visited Arkansas twice. I find it to be the perfect state for riding and enjoying the scenery. Stan already told you about our annual get together in April in Eureka Springs. Now that is a good time and a wonderful way to see a whole lot of Tourers. I know that you've joined the forum to learn a lot more about your T, but don't be afraid to jump in and voice your opinion or share your experiences. No one here bites......well maybe one or two, but their only nibblers and one likes inflatable toys and.....well never mind, you'll find this all out on your own. Welcome to the forum. I'm looking forward to 'talking' with you more in the future. alepel "Ride with the Spirit always, and in all ways".....hombldr |

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I do plan and spending some of my time on this trip taking pictures, but that is what I do for a living and it is often fun to
put down the camera and live a little without having to worry about the equipment to carry.

I really would like to see pics of your bike by the way , it appears to be a color I am not familiar with for the T . Does it have custom paint on it , or is
it just the lighting ?

Glad you found us Clamb. Have a great time riding in the Ozarks area and like Alain and Dan said, head south and hit some of the Northern Arkansas roads. You
will not be disappointed. Maybe you can make the T Spring Rally. The people are great and the riding is pretty good as well. If you make the rally and people
start talking about vinyl and air pumps, pay no attention to them.
Once again...welcome! Bob |

Hey T Rider Houston I put some images in my album. It is a custom color, I bought it that way, one of those things you have to like! I do it is purple and has
pink pin stripes! Takes a "Real Man" to ride it! But I get a lot more positive comments on the color than negative...the women love it and I'm
single so that is a plus LOL

Looks good to me . My wifes aunt had a Harley that was purple with pink pin stripes on it and it really looked good . nice color contrast . My T was scraped
the other day by a friend of mine and will need one saddle bag painted , and I am thinking about doing a full paint job instead . If I do I am not sure what I
will go with , but I want something unique . Probably not a stock color for the T , maybe a good bright blue . I think I want to go with the flames like the
50's hot rods had and have not yet decided what color will look good on my bike and compliment the flames as well . The painter suggested satin black like
the old school rat rods , but I am not too sure about that . Maybe I will start another thread and get suggestions for color combinations .

I think the T just begs for flames. It has that 50's rounded look like most of the autos of that time. I am particularly fond of blue flames on pearl white
or silver like this one. After seeing a local hot rod painted Honda's Illusion blue pearl flames (GoldWing, Sabre, Ace, etc.) over a slightly blue shade
pearl white, I have to give it my 2 thumbs up.
If you don't like this look, then this site will give you some ideas. Just click on each event for a photo gallery of that event. There are hundreds to look at. http://www.hotrodsandclassics.net/photogalleries.htm Stan

I do like the look of that one , Nice classic look to it . I started a new thread in the polls section so I wouldn't steal this thread . I also added
several pics to my profile of nice flames I found surfing the net .

That base color is actually one that we were discussing at the paint shop the other day . It is the color the painter has on his truck , but he has some wild
grafics instead of flames . I might go with something along those lines . Really a great looking ride too .
