I am attempting to lower my 99 Ace Tourer for my wife and need some suggestions. I have put the original factory seat back on the bike, but since it is so wide, I really didn't gain anything. I have been told that I can only lower the shocks by about 1/2 - 3/4" and that if I change the tires to a lower profile I may gain about 1/2". Has anyone attempted this, and if so, what did you do and how much did you gain. My wife is only 4'11", so see my dilema.

Cruiser Customizing has a lowering kit for the front of the Tourer:

I'm just about flat-footed on the bike now, only because my boots have thick soles (HAHA), but would like to lower Matty just a bit yet. When we re-did my seat, we shaved some of the sides of it off where my thighs hit, and that helped me to get my feet a little closer to the ground, too. It's tough being vertically-challenged!! Everyone goes for the back shocks.Heres what ya do- this is what I did thanks to a motorcycle mechanics suggestion and its easy.Lower the front ,it might sound
weird but it worked great.At the triple tree under the handle bars there is a clamp on the top of both fork tubes.He did it but I know that he loosened the
tube clamps and let the triple tree slide down a 1/2in and no more then 3/4in I did 1/2 and what a difference.It even felt better coming to a stop- it
wasn't as squirely and my feet were flat on the ground.A 1/2in I guess with the length of the bike lowered it nice.I've had it that whey almost 3
year.One other thing you can do that also will help is buy a Mustang SquareBack seat #75409.Its lower with great back support-- wide at the back but tapers in
where your legs hang down.I've had 4 different seats and this one is great.Good luck ,bob
