Before I post in the "For Sale" section, I thought I'd at least try and follow your forum rules (even if I fail to follow any other rules, haha). I live in CA, have logged about 75k in the last 4 years, and currently own 3 Honda Aero 1100's, hence the "1st cousin" title (and yes, there is a story behind owning 3 of the same bike, LOL).
I've always admired the ACE-T, and has a fellow discontinued bike owner, can relate to the your pain of having one of the two greatest bikes ever built by Honda only to be trash canned by them a few years later with nothing on the horizon that remotely compares. So, why am I here if I don't own an Ace-T? Well us poor Aero owners have to resort to snapping up Ace-T parts sometimes, which I did recently by a sheer stroke of luck on our local Craigslist. I wanted dual pipes but no one makes after market duallies for the Aero anymore, but since the Ace-T stock and after market dual exhausts are a direct bolt up except fabbing the muffler hanging brackets, I decided I wanted a set of V&H.
Back to Craigslist....perusing the ads one day, I saw an ad with the title of V&H pipes for a 750 Aero. Now, why in the world I ever even clicked on it (wrong bike for pete's sake!) is a wonder to me, but I did. There in the description was the V&H website photo of a Nomad showing the V&H bagger exhaust. The ad then described these brand new in the box V&H pipes for a 750 Aero, which includes a right hand side pipe and a left hand side pipe. Instantly I figured they had the wrong bike model because V&H does not make a dual bagger exhaust for the 750 Aero, or even my 1100 Aero, and as far as I know, the only dual bagger they made for any Honda is the Ace-T. Called the guy up, went and looked, and sure enough...a brand new Ace-T V&H exhaust system in the box for $300. Peeled off the cash, and off I went!
Because I didn't want to have mufflers that hang off the underneath of the hardbags, and wanted something lighter weight, I then decided to get rid of the V&H mufflers (that's my upcoming for sale ad here), and put on sharkfin tip mufflers instead. Stroke of luck #2, I scored a $400 set of Freedom Performance fishtails new in the box on eBay for $130. So, this week, I had every thing fabbed up and installed by my exhaust shop, and I'm now on the road with a totally killer set of dual pipes.
Ok, I've rambled enough here....suffice it to say, I love the Ace-T and if I weren't so absolutely in love with my Aero 1100 sheet metal, it would be my next logical choice for a bike. If you all don't mind, I do have some mufflers to post for sale, and hey, an Aero 1100 or two as well!
