Motorcycle Officer Down |
Lead | ||
|
I just heard on the news that a motorcycle police officer escorting the Clinton motorcade in Dallas Texas crashed on a bridge. The officer died at the
hospital. There was not a lot of details but the officer was the only person involved. My thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of this
policeman.

Our motorcycle officers are so skilled. I am wondering if he had a mechanical malfunction or was attending to some duty other than riding safely. Another
motorcycle officer died last year in President Bush's motorcade and also one the year before.

Here's what is posted on USA Today's website, still not much detail, Crash kills officer escorting Clinton motorcade .
This type of escort detail seems to be very hazardous. I would guess speed may have had something to do with the crash. Escorts of this type don't move slowly. "We want to be free... Free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man!" |

Just my thoughts on it..... I've watched a couple of motorcades go by in this last couple of years. A motorcycle escort stops and blocks a side road till
the motorcade goes past him, then races to get back ahead of the motorcade and block another intersection. They move along at a rather good clip for
protection. I've seen them moving upwards of 50-60 mph through town. If someone does something stupid like stepping out in front of them to snap a picture
of the motorcade, you can see just imagine the consequences. It's a shame.

Yes, I guess you would call me a bass player. I've played since I was about 16. That pic isn't my bass but I do own a Ric just like it. I bought my Ric
way back in 1973 I believe and had her ever since.

I've played guitar and bass for years, I have 4 guitars, a Banjo and my Fender Jassmaster bass. Plus about ten harmonicas' along with the Amps and
sound gear.
The Bass is my favorite and I can fit in with anyone, just tell me the key and were off. Mark

NYMark99 wrote: Sounds like a "T" band to me. Bring Stony out of retirement too. I have 6 guitars, 1 bass, 1 banjo, a few harmonicas but little time to play
them. But with a good reason .... maybe.
