Hey Steve,
1) You appear to be having an anxiety attack....the trip is about 4200 miles, not 42000, so first of all, settle down. 2) Frankly, yes, but it's not dedicated. I believe it is tied in with the other electrical buttons on the same housing (i.e. turn signal, high beam). You have five 10 amp fuses in the box. If your horn and turn signals quit working, it'll probably be the one that's burned out. ( In other words, I don't know which one is which.)

I have to echo what Gary said. I have 73,000 miles on my T and have replaced one stator and two voltage regulators, yet my T has never left me stranded. That's counting 17 trips, 74 days on the road and 18,394 T trip miles since June of 2000. Plan your trip and have fun.
