Escort "The Wall That Heals" from the North/South Carolina (no) Border to the USC Upstate Campus in Spartanburg for display.
The 22 Mile escort will begin at Exit 1 on I-26 and end at USC in Spartanburg and will be escorted all the way by local Law Enforcement.
Americans have been able to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and experience the Wall, however, many people have been unable to make the long trip to see the Monument, but they may be able to visit the half-scale replica, which will be on display at the University of South Carolina Upstate campus from Thursday, April 17 through Sunday, April 20, 2008. It will be located behind the Administration Building on the Main Quad, and is free and open to the public. Assistance in locating names on the Wall will be available from 9 am to 6 pm every day, and the Wall will be accessible 24-hours a day during its four-day exhibit.
Joe Frasson, Rolling Thunder, VFW post 9539, ABATE, PGR, is the Event Coordinator for this event. He is the one that got the invitation for the PGR to participate in this escort. Joe has done an excellent job of putting a well-planned route and event together coordinating with all entities involved including several Law Enforcement agencies for an LE escort the entire way. Please support him in his efforts in traditional PGR manner.
