on the left side of the bike just behind the chrome cover there is a black piece with a round chrome thingy in the middle. Not sure if its just a really big
cap or a threaded thingy. Anyway I can't find my thingy

That chrome-thingy is a cap. I have lost more than one of them. Sometimes Lowes has them in their hardware section. You can also get them from RonAyers, BikeBandit, PowerSportsPro and other online retailers that have Honda Parts Fiches.

when looking at the parts fiches what should I search for? anyone have any good pics, Id rather o to home depot or blowes than ron ayers if it will save me
some dough. I also have a CWI chrome cover that completely covers that piece, its only been off briefly though, so if its not necessary I will just put the CWI
cover back on and forget it.

RonAyers.com has them listed under Swingarm, Item #10, Part # 90312-MBO-700, Cap, R. Lock Nut for $10.66. I do not know if Lowes or Home Depot has one this big. I have seen ones the same size as those needed for covering the sidestand bolt.

Lowes or Home Depot have them for the side stand bolt. Now that is something good to remember. I've gone through a few of those.

Eddie,
In the cabinets where the screws, bolts and washers are, there are also cabinets full of specialty items like cotter pins, spacers, chrome caps and such. These cabinets are in the Hardware section. I cannot remember whether I saw the chrome caps in Lowes or Home Depot, but I think it was Lowes.
