Need help Guys,
I had to replace the battery in my T. Bought a T shaped maintainence free battery. When I went to take the old one out, I had to remove the battery box to get
the battery out. The battery fits so tight I don't think I can get it back in if I install the box first, and I can't can't reinstall it with the
battery in the box.
Any suggestions or tips?
I have fought with this thing till I'm ready to chunk it!

I ran into the same thing and notified the retailer about it. The problem with the sealed battery is that the sides of it are about 3/16" longer at the T
part of it. I removed the box, then all the rubber cushions inside the box. Still lacked a little more room to clear the frame tube at the top, so I took a
hammer and knocked the 2 bolt tabs of the frame down about an 1/8 of an inch. These are the 2 tabs that the bottom of the battery box mount to. It took a lot
of trial and error to get it just right, but it now fits in there just right. I have had to remove the new battery twice since then and it came out and went
back in w/o a problem.

Hello Joe. First thing; where did you find a maintainence free T shaped battery? I was under the apparently mistaken belief they didn't exist. What brand
is it?
Yes the T battery is in there tighter than bark on a tree. But it will fit with patience and some wiggling. The first time I removed mine I thought possibly an oversized battery had been installed by mistake. If you have or can find some spray on Teflon or other type dry lubricant apply it to both internal sides of the battery box before attempting to put the battery in, it will make installation easier. The battery is an EBC from Ebay. Around 56 bucks shipped.
I got the battery back in the box after removing the rubber mounts from the bottom, and I did it by oiling the remaining rubber cushions . My problem is getting the whole thing back into the bike. They looked to be the same height, but for some reason I can't seem to get it just right to go back in. |

You'll have to bend those bottom bolt tabs that the box bolts to downward ever so slightly. Otherwise it won't fit in under the frame tube. Only takes
about 1/8" to gain enough clearance for the upper right corner of the battery to clear. You may also need to enlarge the bolt holes on the bottom of the
box one size bigger, then use a washer on the bolts to cover the larger holes.
